Before the referral, we request the patient’s medical records and any available reports so that we can refer the case to the most appropriate specialist or department.
Documents should preferably be submitted in Spanish or English. Where necessary, a translation may be requested.
Where appropriate, an online consultation can be arranged to assess the patient’s clinical condition, address any initial queries and explain the possible treatment options.
The final assessment will be made following a full review of the case and, where appropriate, a face-to-face examination.
We coordinate the necessary consultations, tests and procedures to provide comprehensive care and make the most of your stay in Madrid.
Before the trip, the patient will be given information about the healthcare professional or unit responsible and the estimated duration of the process.
The patient will receive a quote for the care plan originally proposed, with clear details of the services included.
Should any clinical needs arise that have not been provided for, the scope and cost of these will be communicated before they are carried out, provided that the clinical situation allows.
Our team can provide guidance on medical visas, accommodation, transfers and other practical arrangements relating to your scheduled treatment.
Following their appointment, the patient will be given their medical records and instructions for follow-up care.
Where necessary, online consultations or communication with the healthcare professionals responsible for your care in your country of residence can be arranged.
The International Patients team facilitates communication before, during and after your stay, adapting to the patient’s language wherever possible.
