Medical team

Patient information
The Head and Neck Unit specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of tumour-related and non-tumour-related conditions affecting the nasal cavity, paranasal sinuses, larynx, pharynx and cervical structures within the field of Otorhinolaryngology. It treats both early-stage conditions requiring an accurate diagnosis and conservative treatment, as well as conditions requiring advanced functional surgery, with particular emphasis on preserving nasal breathing, voice and swallowing function.
The assessment is aimed at patients with laryngeal lesions, early-stage tumours of the upper aerodigestive tract, persistent voice disorders, structural nasal obstruction, complex sinusitis or cervical masses of ENT origin.
The treatment plan is determined following a detailed endoscopic examination and, where necessary, imaging studies. This process enables the precise identification of the anatomical origin of the problem and an assessment of its functional impact.
The unit uses nasal and laryngeal endoscopy, vocal stroboscopy and advanced imaging systems to analyse both anatomy and function.
In the field of nasal and sinus disorders, structural, inflammatory or tumour-related abnormalities are assessed. In the field of voice, the vibration of the vocal cords, vocal quality and, where appropriate, the impact on the patient’s professional life are examined.

Surgical treatment includes advanced endoscopic nasal and sinus surgery, laryngeal microsurgery and procedures aimed at preserving or restoring the voice.
For selected conditions, minimally invasive techniques are used, allowing for millimetre-precise manipulation of particularly delicate structures, thereby minimising the impact on function.
Following treatment, a programme of clinical and endoscopic follow-up is established to monitor anatomical and functional progress.
In patients with voice disorders, specific monitoring of voice quality is carried out and, where indicated, care is coordinated with speech and language therapy.
The unit comprises specialists in Otorhinolaryngology with a specific focus on rhinology and laryngology, and experience in advanced endoscopic surgery and vocal pathology.
During consultations, we take the time needed to clearly explain the diagnosis, its functional implications and the various treatment options available. We discuss expectations, potential risks and possible long-term effects, ensuring a full understanding before any decision is made.
Decision-making is a shared process, particularly when the procedure may affect the voice, breathing or professional quality of life.
Clinical support is provided throughout the entire care process, from diagnosis to follow-up, ensuring continuity and personalised medical care.
The unit combines diagnostic precision, specialised functional surgery and personalised care in the field of head and neck otolaryngology.
An expert assessment enables the anatomical and functional diagnosis to be confirmed, the decision to opt for conservative or surgical management to be determined, and a treatment plan to be drawn up with the aim of preserving breathing function and vocal quality.
